Jalapeno Pretzel

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 Cups Warm Water
  • 1 Packet Active Dry Yeast
  • 1 1/2 Tsp Salt
  • 1 Tbsp Sugar
  • 1 TbspMelted Butter
  • 3 1/2 Cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 1/2 Cup Baking Soda
  • 9 Cups Water
  • Salt for sprinkling 
  • Jalapenos for topping

Direction:

  • Mix the yeast and warm water and let it rest for about 1 minute. 
  • Mix Flour, Sugar, Salt, and Butter in a bowl.
  • Add the Yeast water to that mix. 
  • If the dough is sticky add a little more flour. You should be able to poke the dough and it will bounce back.
  • On a flat clean surface sprinkle some flour and knead the dough for around 3 minutes. 
  • Put the dough in a bowl and cover it with a towel and let it rest for 10 minutes.
  • In a big pot mix baking soda and water to boil.
  • Pre-Heat the oven to 400° F and line a baking sheet with Parchment Paper.
  •  Divide the dough into 12 equal parts.
  • Roll each part to around 20-inch rope and make a pretzel shape. 
  • Dip each pretzel in boiling baking soda water for 20 seconds each. 
  • Put pretzels on the baking sheet, sprinkle salt, and put some jalapeno's on them.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes or until they are golden brown.
