Jalapeno Cheddar Pretzel Bites
Ingredients:
- 12 FL Oz Warm Water
- 1 Tbsp Sugar
- 2 Tsp Salt
- 1 Packet Instant Yeast
- 4 1/2 Cup All-Purpose Flour
- 4 Tbsp Butter, Melted
- 1/3 Cup Jalapeno, Minced
- 1 1/2 Cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese
- 10 Cups Water
- 2/3 Cup Baking Soda
- 1 Egg
- 1 Tbsp Milk
- 1 Tbsp Sprinkling Salt
Directions:
- In a bowl add water, sugar, salt, and yeast.
- Mix and let it still for 2 minutes.
- Add flour and butter, mixing until fully combined.
- Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for few minutes.
- Add Jalapeno and cheese to the flour.
- Knead until fully combined.
- Transfer the dough to oiled bowl and cover with plastic wrap.
- Let the dough double in size, about 50 minutes.
- In a large pot, heat up water and baking soda.
- In a small bowl mix egg and milk.
- Pre-heat oven to 450 F and line baking sheets with parchment paper and spray with oil.
- Transfer the dough to a floured surface and divide into 8 equal pieces.
- Roll Each portion into a rope and cut into 1 inch pieces.
- Once the baking soda water is boiling.
- Put the pieces in water and remove after 30 seconds.
- Work in small batches so you don't over bath them.
- Transfer to baking sheet.
- Brush the egg mixture on each pretzel and sprinkle with salt.
- Bake for 10 - 12 minutes or until golden brown.
- Serve with dipping sauce.
- Mix 1/4 Cup honey, 1/4 Cup Spicy mustard and 1 Tbsp Siracha Sauce to make a spicy honey mustard dipping sauce.
